Coconut Fall plan

1. You will produce a plan for a 2 level game. You will do this using a range of tools (eg sketches of the levels, a flowchart to explain how the the program works.)
  • you will need to use Gliffy and your blog to write this up
  • if you are creating hand sketches, then you will need to scan these into your blog somehow (eg photographs)
Above is task one of the criteria:
Here is my plan for coconut fall:

and here is a final one that I scan just in case you can't see that well in the pictures that I took:

Sorry for the late reply. Had some trouble in managing my time and in making the game that was assigned.
But here it is the beginning is just how I made it and the step of what would happen scroll right down to play the real version

 The computer start with saying:

Then the player have to insert number between 1-20

Then there is a answer slot where player type in number
if the number is right then the screen will show:

But if the number is smaller than the computer will show:

however if the number is bigger than the number that has to be guess than the computer will show:

Each time plater start the plater will have 30 points however each wrong answer they guess they loose 10 points and when there are no more points the screen will show:

Checkpoint 1: HTML

So our task today was to do the following:

1. Create a simple web page according to the following requirements.
(use Notepad on a PC or TextWrangler in a Mac)
Create a folder on your laptop called HTML Practice and inside it create the following html file
  • the page has a title called "Home Page"
  • there are 2 paragraphs on the page - the first paragraph must be the following text "In the begiing the universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move. Douglas Adams"
  • The second paragraph must be something about Douglas Adams.
  • Place a heading before each paragraph - for paragraph 1 have the heading size 3  and for paragraph 2 heading should be size 5.
  • create a folder within your HTML Practice folder and call it "images".
  • Download from the internet the following image and place it in your images folder
  • add this image to your webpage before the two paragraphs.
  • Save your page as an html file and then view it in at least 2 different web browsers.
Write an appropriate blog post about what you have learned during this exercise including appropriate screen shots.
Why do you think Google's image on the search page is what it is today?
You have one period to do this.

The creating folder was easy and to start it was easy. However when putting a image on that's when I was stuck. I was doing everything right by typing in <img... however the part where I got wrong was the next three letter instead of typing src I typed in scr which mass up the whole thing cause my image just won't show!!! Until the very end of the lesson when Mr. McCrae pointed out my mistake did everything finally click into place. So then my image tag was <img src="images/don't panic.jpg"> and then I can view it on the web browser which I was very happy.

Lesson learn today was to type in src not scr for images!!!!!!!
so this is my web that I created:

my infographic

all right this took ages to do so it better work anyway this is an infographic I made myself using Piktochart.

So this data I actually got it from variety of website then I had to calculate all the money and sums together and do stuff to it to make it a life time. So the uploading of the image gave me a lot of problem since I didn't save it in the first two days I did so in the end all the image cannot be uploaded but hopefully it will show up!! n_n  :3

Now that I check it again I have to do the process! So I started by having no idea as anyone would so then there was an infograph on how many minute we can have to ourself through our life time so I thought why not do it so then we calculate how much money we spent in a life time so I go on different web but my main web was:http://mentalfloss.com/article/31222/numbers-how-americans-spend-their-money
then I search up the population of America since this whole data was collected in America.
then I divide the number to get the average money they spend in one year
then times that by the number of time that shall happen in a year (average lifespan of a person is to 80)
after that images were downloaded from the net and changed so then it no longer is under the copyright.
after that I just upload images, type in the amount of money, design it and calculate the total

sound easy, I wish it was fun and interesting however it was frustrating as well since sometimes it just doesn't want to work like you want it to work

infographic website

So below should be about Picktochart so this post would be about the the other website where you can do infographic and the website is called infogr.am

First thing I did again is to create a free user account which was easy enough.

So for infogr.am the free user get to have the following things: > 6 themes to chose from
                                                                                            > graphs making just like goggle spreadsheet

In my opinion this website is suit for people who need to use it to make a graph to show the data this is just like the goggle spreadsheet that I use for my Gapminder. for this one there is bubble chart as well which is quite cool

Infographic website

So there are two website we can explore to get ready for our assignment which is to create our own infographic!!!!!! n_n

The two website that I can choose from to make my infographic are Piktochart and infogr.am. So there is an analysis on the two website.

Piktochart.com:

Basic theme for free account user
To start is easy I just had to create a free account and it automatically signed me in and I can access to the following: > 6 basic themes
                     > better customization
                     > 5 slots for image upload only
                     > picktochart watermark

how ever paying $29 each month or paid $169 to become a pro will get buyer to access of the following:
> over 100 professional themes
> better customization
> more image upload
> no picktochart watermark

Average Spent on Weddings- Infographic
examples of infographics from piktochart:

(average spent on weddings)
I found this interesting because this I personally had been to many wedding and it was always amazing with all those events, decoration and the guest that there but this is the first time I know how much each things cost and how many guest there are on average.
The cost of invitation was the most surprising one because sending letters cost so much!!!! Also the number of guest is enormous and the month that most people get marry is June which was something new to me. The music was also surprising since playing music cost as well??? Well I hope that you find this interesting since I certainly did. If you can't see it too clearly here is the link for a enlarge version.
http://piktochart.com/2012/09/actual-wedding-costs/
Here is another example:
Apple vs Samsung Infographic
this is interesting because there was the big fight over who was copying each other between Apple and Samsung. This infographic shows a time time of the event in a very interesting way that reader would read it including teenagers instead of paragraphs after paragraphs like the newspaper.

For the enlarge version of this infographic on 'Battle In Court': http://piktochart.com/2012/09/apple-vs-samsung/

Gapminder_fist project!!!!!!

The first task/project I did in year 10 Digital Technology class is going onto Gapminder and looking at moving graphs.

After that we have to find our own data on Gapminder that we find interesting and do a moving graph on that. I chose number of internet user over the population of the country. I had to use two set of data which gave me a headache since in the internet user population the time period started from 1990 and ends in 2010 however for the population in different countries the time period started from 1790 to 2013 so i have to trim and eliminate some data also some countries from the total population does not appear in the internet user population so I have to go through the whole list and check each country off. Then I have to use excel to change the row into column so then it will be easier to paste. For the rest I just copy and paste the whole night long. :) n_n

These are two videos on the data I had to do to make it easier for you guys to read so the highlight part is the country that all the data underneath is show because I have to do it so then that each country have to repeat itself like 21 times so then it is a little bit hard to read.

For this one please ignore the ending mistake because I miscount and misvideo it

Check out my work!!!! note: please set the graph so then the colour is unique and the size is according to the population.
